September's Guest Speakers

At the September meeting we were very pleased to be visited by Marge, Jo, Barb and Denise from the Macarthur Textile Network. The ladies kindly shared a variety of works created through spinning, weaving, felting, embroidery, art quilting and so much more. It was very inspiring to see and hear how these projects evolved and I’m sure many of us are already thinking how and when we can incorporate some of these great ideas into our schedule.

We look forward to visiting next year to enjoy the biennial exhibition at the Campbelltown Art Centre.

Aussie Hero Quilts (and Laundry bags) - ongoing

Joy Hodges gave an inspiring talk at the May General Meeting, an abridged version of her talk was in the June newsletter. There is an ongoing need for quilts and laundry bags and there is a block of the month program too.

According to Aussie Hero Quilts blogspot:

This blog is dedicated to encouraging people to make quilts and laundry bags to send to Aussie service men and women currently serving overseas and to express our gratitude for their service. We care about the people - not the politics or the mission. Our quilts are not works of art, but works of the heart.
