Wollongong Hospital's Neonatal Unit

Scent Hearts

Scent Hearts are made of cotton flannelette and are worn next to the skin of mother and father to absorb their scent. These are then placed with their baby in the neonatal unit so that the baby can bond with their parents even when they are not physically present.

Thank you to the Members who have co-ordinated, created and distributed these caring gifts.

Instructions are available on the Community Assistance page. Kits and instructions are also available at gatherings in Corrimal.

Small happy quilts

A request has been made for small quilts for the cribs in the neonatal unit to help brighten the room and the day for those families attending the unit. Small happy quilts measuring 21 inches across and 16 inches in depth would be warmly welcomed.

As well as these items members continue to work on Blankets of Love for the hospital.

Aussie Hero Quilts and Laundry bags - ongoing

There is an ongoing need for quilts and laundry bags and there is a block of the month program too. According to Aussie Hero Quilts blogspot:

This blog is dedicated to encouraging people to make quilts and laundry bags to send to Aussie service men and women currently serving overseas and to express our gratitude for their service. We care about the people - not the politics or the mission. Our quilts are not works of art, but works of the heart.
